Apparently Fireworks Are Legal Everywhere Except VA

Volunteer Art

Apparently the volunteer state got a volunteer artist to do their art. I think this is supposed to be people volunteering. Who has heart-shaped heads?

Laura in Tennessee

From Day 2 & 3 - From the Car
Why is Tennessee "The Volunteer State"?
You know what they say about volunteering...it never pays.

Virginia From the Road

Even with overcast skies rural Virginia is green and lush. We passed a lot of farmland, as one tends to do while driving down I-81.

Day 2 started off promising. Laura and I woke up early so that she could go to work. While she was at work I hung out at a local starbucks (they really need to stop charging for internet!) and did all of my "day1" blogging (as well as some other legitimate work...really). Unfortunately, Laura's administrator kept her at school really late, so we ended up not being able to hit the road until noon. But when traveling these things happen, and its best to just embrace that which is out of our control.

Laura started off driving. In fact, the way things worked out, Laura drove through the entire state of Virginia and into Tennessee. We stopped at the border to take some pictures, and then we stopped for gas and dinner. Then I drove through the state of tennessee all the way to west memphis, arkansas....

Tomorrow I'll post pictures and details. Right now the kind ladies I'm staying with are going to bed. So godnight!

Trying out the video feature

i used the first few hours of my free time updating my computer and backing up all of my data. while doing that i came across some old videos i had taken of my favorite subject, so i’ve decided to try out embedding videos in my blog with a sample of some of my personal favorites.
